Untitled (Shovels)

The film was made as a cryptomnesia either of the Victory Parade in Moscow in 1945 or the Eisenshtein’s “Strike”. Or maybe both. So shovels that fall on the ground: are they trophy standards of a defeated enemy, rusted cultural treasures of oppressors, or weapons relinquished by workers ordered by their Soviet to stop their armed uprising? Or is it perhaps the beginning of a general Strike? I would very much wish for this to be a beginning. So that the future, when Moscow heard the distant echo of Tahrir, becomes the present.
